Every OptiVAN treatment is designed to help protect your caravan, camper, RV or motorhome from real-world exposure, touring conditions and everyday use. This page explains what each warranty covers, what is not covered, what care is required and how to make a claim.

1. OptiVAN Exterior Graphene Ceramic Protection Warranty

OptiVAN Exterior Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is backed by a National Lifetime Transferrable Warranty for eligible caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes.

When we say “lifetime,” we mean the operational lifetime of the vehicle. In other words, the OptiVAN warranty remains in place for as long as the vehicle is still in use, provided it has not been written off or permanently removed from service, and the warranty conditions are met.

For vehicles that are new or no more than 60 months from build date at the time of treatment, the exterior graphene ceramic protection is covered for the lifetime of the vehicle.

For used vehicles between 60 months (5 years) and 120 months (10 years) from build date at the time of treatment, the warranty applies until the vehicle reaches 120 months (10 years) from build date.

For the purposes of this warranty, warrantable Exterior Surfaces are compatible exterior coated and refinishable surfaces of the Caravan, Camper, RV or Motorhome to which the product has been properly applied, including:

automotive-style painted exterior panels;
painted fibreglass panels;
painted aluminium panels;
painted composite panels;
gelcoat fibreglass panels;
powder-coated aluminium panels;
coated aluminium cladding; and
other compatible coated, gel-coated, composite, cladding or refinishable exterior surfaces approved by Protection Brands.

Coverage is dependent on the nature, condition, age and suitability of the final exterior surface. This warranty does not apply to incompatible, raw, uncoated, porous, flexible, vinyl, laminate, film, decal, fabric, rubber, canvas, heavily oxidised, delaminated, structurally compromised or otherwise unsuitable surfaces.

What is covered?

Subject to the warranty terms, conditions and exclusions, OptiVAN Exterior Graphene Ceramic Protection is designed to help prevent weather-induced damage to suitable treated surface, including:

discolouration
fading
oxidisation
loss of gloss
environmental fallout damage
road grime damage
leaf staining
fruit and berry staining
tree sap damage
bug splatter damage
bird dropping damage
bat dropping damage
sunscreen damage
water etching
water spotting damage

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, OptiVAN may clean, repair or reapply the product to the affected area, or may pay compensation at its option.

What surfaces can be treated?

OptiVAN Exterior Graphene Ceramic Protection can be applied to suitable exterior surfaces, including:

exterior painted panels
sides, front, rear and roof
checker plate body panels
plastic and vinyl body stickers / decals
solar panels
skylights and sunroofs
side and rear window glass
clear hard and fixed plastic windows
perspex windows
headlights, taillights and indicator lights

Coverage may differ depending on the surface type, package selected and warranty terms. The full warranty document should always be reviewed for specific inclusions and exclusions.

What is not covered?

The exterior warranty does not cover every type of damage. Common exclusions include damage caused by:

collision, impact, stone chipping, rust or vandalism
scratches, swirl marks, wash webbing or abrasive washing
delamination or manufacturer paint defects
acids, dyes, oil-based paints, bleaches, ammonia-based products or corrosive chemicals
polishing, waxing, buffing or cutting compounds
solvents, degreasers, bore water or non-pH-neutral cleaners
altered, resprayed, repaired or replaced panels where the product has not been reapplied
accessories or modifications added after treatment
failure to follow the care and maintenance instructions

Inspections, reapplications and transfer

There are no annual inspection or annual reapplication requirements for the OptiVAN Exterior Graphene Ceramic Protection Warranty.

If a treated panel is repaired, resprayed or replaced, the product must be reapplied to that panel within the required timeframe. The cost of reapplication is the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

The warranty is transferable, provided the transfer request is submitted within 30 days of ownership change, proof of ownership change is provided, the vehicle passes inspection at a OptiVAN / Protection Brands approved centre and the applicable administration and inspection fee is paid.

2. OptiVAN PPF Warranty (Panels & Windows)

OptiVAN Paint Protection Film (PPF) is professionally supplied and installed to selected exterior surfaces and is backed by a 10 Year Warranty from the original date of professional installation.

Where the OptiVAN PPF Ceramic Coating is applied over PPF, the warranty period follows the applicable PPF warranty period. Where PPF Ceramic Coating is applied to painted surfaces only, lifetime coverage may apply subject to the relevant warranty terms.

What is covered?

Subject to the warranty terms, conditions and exclusions, the OptiVAN PPF warranty covers defects in materials and manufacturing, including:

cracking of the film
yellowing of the film
discolouration of the film
peeling of the film
delamination of the film
degumming of the film
bubbling of the film

Where PPF Ceramic Coating has been professionally applied to the PPF product and/or painted surfaces, the treated surfaces may also be covered against damage caused by:

tree sap
bug splatter
bird droppings
bat droppings

What is not covered?

The PPF warranty does not cover all forms of film or surface damage. Common exclusions include:

installation on unsuitable or non-approved surfaces
pre-existing scratches, scuffs, stains, chips or surface damage
physical impact, cuts, tears, abrasions, road debris or stone chips
deliberate damage, mishandling, accidents or normal wear and tear
automated car washes, aggressive washing or high-pressure washing directed at film edges
polishing, buffing, sanding, compounding or abrasive cleaning
harsh chemicals, solvents, fuels, oils, non-pH-neutral cleaners or corrosive substances
mineral deposits or hard water spotting not promptly removed
unapproved coatings, waxes, sealants or treatments
unauthorised modification, repair, removal or over-coating
vehicle repainting costs
manufacturer paint defects or vehicle manufacturer warranty matters
failure to follow the recommended care and maintenance instructions

It is important to understand that PPF provides a physical protective film layer, but it is not indestructible. Heavy impacts, cuts, tears, deep abrasions and severe stone damage may still damage the film or the surface underneath.

30-day health check

OptiVAN PPF has a one-month, or 30-day, post-installation inspection which is to be completed by a OptiVAN PPF technician at a location nominated by OptiVAN. The purpose of the inspection is to confirm that the film has bonded and cured correctly, and to assess and rectify any installation-related irregularities in order to support you our customer with the highest quality of product and installation service.

Failure to complete the 30-day health check may affect warranty coverage for installation-related issues.

Reapplication after panel repair or respray

If a panel is repaired, resprayed or replaced, OptiVAN must be contacted to arrange reapplication or reinstallation.

Where the OptiVAN PPF and the OptiVAN PPF Ceramic Coating have been applied to a panel, reapplication should generally occur within 8 to 10 weeks after the repair, respray or replacement.

Where PPF Ceramic Coating has been applied to painted panels without PPF, reapplication should generally occur within 4 to 6 weeks after the repair, respray or replacement.

The cost of reapplication is the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

Ownership Transfer

The PPF warranty is transferable, subject to the transfer request being submitted within 30 days of ownership change, proof of ownership transfer being provided, the vehicle passing inspection at an approved Protection Brands location and the applicable administration and inspection fee being paid.

3. OptiVAN Interior Warranty

OptiVAN Interior Protection is designed to help protect suitable treated interior surfaces in caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes.

The OptiVAN Interior Treatment Warranty applies to treated fabric, leather, plastic and vinyl surfaces, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the warranty.

For vehicles that are new or no more than 60 months (5 years) from build date at the time of treatment, the interior treatment is covered for the lifetime of the vehicle.

For used vehicles between 60 months (5 years) and 120 months (10 years) from build date at the time of treatment, the warranty applies until the vehicle reaches 120 months (10 years) from build date.

What is covered?

Subject to warranty terms, conditions and exclusions, OptiVAN Interior Protection is designed to help prevent permanent staining of suitable treated surfaces from common contaminants, including:

make-up
sunscreen
water
coffee
soda
milk
commonly consumed food and liquids

The warranty also covers discolouration of treated surfaces caused by the harmful effects of ultraviolet light, subject to the warranty terms and conditions.

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, OptiVAN may clean, repair or reapply the product to the affected area, or may pay compensation at its option.

What surfaces can be treated?

OptiVAN Interior Protection may be applied to suitable fabric, leather, plastic and vinyl surfaces, including:

curtains
carpets
cushions
lounges
bedframes
headboard coverings
selected cupboard surfaces
flooring
interior walls

The products may also be applied to the following surfaces for performance benefits only, however those surfaces are not covered by the OptiVAN warranty:

exterior cupboard surfaces;
shower screen doors;
shower walls / shower wall tiles;
mirrors;
splashbacks;
benchtops; and
tabletops.

For clarity, application of the product to a surface does not mean that the surface is covered by this warranty. Warranty coverage applies only to Covered Interior Surfaces, unless Protection Brands expressly confirms otherwise in writing.

Coverage depends on the surface type, package selected and warranty terms.

What is not covered?

The interior warranty does not cover every type of interior damage or staining. Common exclusions include:

ripped, torn, burned, altered or vandalised materials
accident damage
staining or discolouration caused by caustic or corrosive products
acids, clothing dye transfer, inks, bleaches, gum or paint
general wear and tear
pre-existing marks, stains or discolouration
manufacturer defects or items covered by the manufacturer’s warranty
treated areas that have been altered, removed or over-coated
steam cleaning, coloured cloth transfer or non-pH-neutral cleaners
repaired or replaced surfaces where the product has not been reapplied
failure to follow care and maintenance instructions

Certain areas and items are excluded from the interior warranty, including food preparation and food service areas, food storage areas, toilets, sinks, appliances, stove tops, BBQs, electronics and other excluded surfaces listed in the warranty document.

Inspections, reapplications and transfer

There are no annual inspection or annual reapplication requirements for the OptiVAN Interior Warranty.

If a treated interior panel or surface is repaired, relined or replaced, the product must be reapplied to that area. The cost of reapplication is the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

The warranty is transferable, provided the transfer request is submitted within 30 days of ownership change, proof of ownership change is provided, the vehicle passes inspection at a Protection Brands approved centre and the applicable administration and inspection fee is paid.

4. OptiVAN Window Tint Warranty

OptiVAN Window Tint is available on RVs and Motorhomes and is designed to improve comfort, glare reduction, UV protection and cabin appearance, while also being supported by a lifetime window tint warranty.

The OptiVAN Window Tint Warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable.

What is covered?

Subject to warranty terms, conditions and exclusions, the window tint warranty covers the window film against:

bubbling
cracking
discolouration
peeling

Where a valid claim is accepted, Protection Brands will repair or replace the faulty area of the product at its option.

What is not covered?

The window tint warranty does not cover every type of window film damage. Common exclusions include:

impact damage
chipping, scratching or scraping
accident or collision damage
belt whiplash damage
rolling windows down within the first 48-hour curing period
cleaning with ammonia-based or harsh chemical solutions
cleaning with abrasive cloths or materials
minor imperfections that do not affect visibility or functionality
failure to maintain window seals
failure to follow window tint care instructions

Transfer and inspections

The OptiVAN Window Tint Warranty is not transferable. It applies only to the original purchaser listed on the Warranty Treatment Form.

There are no annual inspection requirements.

5. OptiVAN Care Instructions

Correct care is important for maintaining the appearance, performance and warranty support of your OptiVAN treatment.

OptiVAN products are designed to make treated surfaces easier to maintain, but they do not remove the need for washing, cleaning and care. Contaminants should be removed promptly and the vehicle should be maintained using suitable products and methods.

Exterior Graphene Ceramic & PPF Care

Both the OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection and the OptiVAN PPF are designed to make suitable treated surfaces easier to clean and maintain, but regular care is still required to preserve appearance, performance and warranty support.

Wash your caravan, camper, RV or motorhome regularly using a pH-neutral vehicle wash and safe hand-washing methods. Where practical, wash every 2 to 3 weeks, rinse the surface first to remove loose dirt and debris, use clean microfibre wash mitts or sponges, wash from top to bottom and dry the vehicle after washing with a clean microfibre drying towel or chamois.

Bird droppings, bat droppings, bug splatter, tree sap, tar, road grime and other contaminants should be removed as soon as possible. If contamination does not come off during normal washing, soften the affected area with warm water, pH-neutral wash or a suitable detailing spray, allow it to dwell briefly, then gently wipe with a clean microfibre cloth. Do not scrub aggressively.

Water spotting can occur on any vehicle, whether protected or not. It is usually caused by mineralised water drying on the surface. To reduce the risk of water spots, avoid washing with bore water or heavily mineralised water, do not allow water to dry naturally on the surface and always dry the vehicle after washing. If water spots appear, rewash and dry the affected area promptly.

For OptiVAN PPF, do not wash the vehicle for 2 to 4 weeks after installation and avoid unnecessary handling or disturbance of the film edges during the curing period.

Do not use waxes, wax-based wash products, polishes, cutting compounds, abrasive cleaners, acidic or alkaline cleaners, solvents, degreasers, ammonia-based products, automatic brush or brushless car washes, dirty wash equipment or aggressive scrubbing methods.

Do not direct high-pressure water or steam cleaning at PPF edge.

Do not polish, buff or apply any harsh compounds to any treated surface.

Interior care

OptiVAN Interior Protection helps provide a protective barrier on suitable treated surfaces, but spills should still be cleaned promptly.

Recommended interior care includes:

vacuum and clean regularly

clean spills as soon as possible

blot spills with a clean, non-coloured towel or absorbent paper

use pH-neutral multipurpose cleaner where required

avoid over-wetting fabric or carpet surfaces

use clean microfibre cloths

use soft brushes only where suitable

dry surfaces after cleaning

For leather and vinyl, gently wipe with a clean cloth dampened with a suitable pH-neutral cleaner, then dry with a clean microfibre cloth.

For fabric and carpet, gently dab or blot the affected area rather than scrubbing aggressively.

Window tint and glass care

After window tint installation:

do not roll windows down for the first 48 hours

avoid touching or disturbing the film during curing

do not use ammonia-based glass cleaners

do not use abrasive cloths or cleaning materials

keep window seals clean and free from dirt, dust and debris

take care when removing seat belts to avoid belt whiplash against the glass

For cleaning, use a suitable pH-neutral cleaner or tint-safe glass cleaner with clean, lint-free microfibre cloths.

Warranty maintenance requirements

To maintain warranty support:

follow the relevant care instructions

use pH-neutral cleaning products

avoid harsh, abrasive or unsuitable products

remove contaminants promptly

do not polish, wax or buff treated surfaces

do not use automatic car washes

retain your Warranty Treatment Form and proof of purchase

lodge any warranty claim within 30 days of the issue appearing

complete the 30-day PPF health check where PPF has been installed
