OptiVAN Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic, PPF, interior protection, antimicrobial treatments and warranty coverage.

1. What is OptiVAN?
OptiVAN is a professional exterior and interior protection system created specifically for caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes.
The OptiVAN range includes Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection, Paint Protection Film (PPF), Interior Surface Protection, Antimicrobial Treatments, Window PPF and selected window film/tint options where suitable.
OptiVAN is designed for Australian touring conditions, helping protect suitable treated surfaces from environmental contamination, road exposure, everyday use, stains, spills, odours, surface wear and impact-prone areas.
2. Is OptiVAN only for caravans?
OptiVAN is designed specifically for caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes.
These recreational vehicles are built differently from standard automotive vehicles. They often use different construction materials, surface types, paint systems, fibreglass, gel coats, decals, checker plate, plastics, glass, perspex and interior finishes. Because of this, they require a protection system that is formulated and applied differently from coatings used on normal automotive paint systems.
OptiVAN has been developed for the unique challenges of larger recreational vehicles, including long-distance touring, harsh UV exposure, road grime, red dust, coastal air, campsite use, surface contamination and extended outdoor exposure.
If you would also like your car or tow vehicle protected, OptiVAN can assist by providing and treating your vehicle with a suitable automotive coating designed specifically for automotive paint systems.
3. Why do caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes need specialist protection?
Caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes are exposed to different conditions than normal passenger vehicles.
They are larger, often stored outdoors, towed long distances and exposed to insects, road grime, red dust, coastal air, UV, tree cover, bird and bat droppings, branches, campsite dust, water run-off, mineral build-up and repeated cleaning.
OptiVAN is designed to help protect suitable exterior and interior surfaces from these real-world touring conditions.
4. What is OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection?
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is a two-stage professional 9H+ graphene ceramic system for caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes.
Stage one applies the graphene ceramic protective treatment to suitable exterior and interior surfaces. Stage two uses a professional surface finisher designed to assist curing, enhance delivery presentation, improve final gloss and support the finished feel of the treated surface. Warranty terms and conditions apply.
5. What does OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection do?
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection helps create an additional protective barrier over suitable treated surfaces.
It is designed to help protect against (and warrants damage from) harsh Australian touring conditions, including UV exposure, red dust, coastal air, road grime, bug splatter, bird and bat droppings, leaf stains, berry stains, mineral build-up, salt build-up, oxidation, fading and discolouration.
It also helps enhance gloss, improve surface slickness and make suitable treated surfaces easier to clean and maintain.
6. What does “two-stage professional 9H+ Graphene Ceramic system” mean?
It means OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is not simply a single-step coating application.
Stage one involves the professional application of the graphene ceramic protective treatment to suitable exterior and interior surfaces.
Stage two uses a professional surface finisher designed to assist curing, enhance delivery presentation, improve final gloss and support the finished feel of the treated surface.
Together, the two stages are designed to provide a premium professional finish and a more complete delivery result.
7. What does the surface finisher do?
The OptiVAN surface finisher is used as the second stage of the professional Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection process.
It is designed to assist curing, enhance delivery presentation, improve final gloss and support the finished feel of the treated surface.
It works as part of the overall OptiVAN two-stage system.
8. What does 9H+ mean?
9H+ refers to hardness testing language commonly used in ceramic surface protection.
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection has been independently tested by multiple third-party laboratories to achieve a formal result of “Above 9H” pencil hardness under KS M ISO 15184.
The pencil hardness test measures how resistant a coated surface is to marking or scratching when tested against pencils of increasing hardness. The scale commonly progresses through softer grades and continues up to 9H, which is the highest standard pencil hardness point used in the test method.
Because 9H is the upper testing limit, there is no formal higher pencil hardness grade within this test, such as 10H, 11H or above. This means that when OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection achieved a result of “Above 9H,” it performed beyond the measurable limit of the test method itself.
In practical terms, OptiVAN exceeded the highest available pencil hardness testing point. Because the test does not provide a recognised measurement above 9H, its true upper hardness level cannot be formally measured using this test method. It is therefore described as 9H+, meaning it achieved performance above the highest measurable point of the pencil hardness test.
It is important to understand that 9H+ does not mean the surface is impossible to scratch, chip or damage. It refers to a tested hardness result and should always be understood alongside correct surface preparation, professional application, suitable surface condition, ongoing care and the relevant OptiVAN warranty terms and conditions.
9. What is the difference between OptiVAN’s Graphene Ceramic and a standard ceramic coating?
A standard ceramic coating is usually a silica-based or ceramic-based protective treatment that forms a hard, slick layer over the treated surface. It helps improve gloss, reduce contaminant bonding and make the surface easier to clean.
A graphene ceramic treatment is an advanced ceramic coating system that includes graphene or graphene-derived technology within the formulation. Graphene is used because it can help improve the coating’s barrier performance, strength, chemical resistance, slickness and durability when properly formulated and professionally applied.
The key difference is that graphene ceramic protection is designed to provide a more advanced protective layer than a standard ceramic coating. The graphene component helps create a stronger and more resilient barrier against environmental contamination, water spotting, dirt build-up, UV exposure, staining and general surface degradation.
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection takes this further by using a two-stage professional 9H+ graphene ceramic system designed specifically for caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes. It is formulated for the different surfaces found on recreational vehicles, including fibreglass, gel coats, checker plate, decals, plastics, glass, perspex, painted panels and interior materials.
In simple terms, a standard ceramic coating provides ceramic surface protection. OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic provides a more advanced, caravan-specific graphene ceramic protection system designed for harsher exposure, larger surfaces, mixed materials and real Australian touring conditions.
10. Is OptiVAN the best ceramic coating for caravans?
OptiVAN is designed to meet the key criteria caravan owners should look for in a professional ceramic protection system: caravan-specific formulation, professional application, two-stage 9H+ Graphene Ceramic technology, broad exterior and interior surface coverage, national warranty support and protection against harsh Australian touring conditions.
Rather than relying on a generic “best” claim, OptiVAN is built around the real conditions caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes face on Australian roads.
11. Does OptiVAN protect against red dust?
Yes. OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is designed to help protect suitable treated surfaces from red dust, dirt, road grime and other touring contaminants.
Red dust should still be removed using the correct cleaning process. The coating helps make maintenance easier, but it does not remove the need for regular washing, especially after regional, rural or off-road travel.
12. Does OptiVAN protect against bird droppings and bat droppings?
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection helps provide an additional protective barrier against bird and bat droppings on suitable treated surfaces.
However, bird and bat droppings can be chemically aggressive and should be removed as soon as practical. No coating should be treated as permanent protection against contaminants that are left on the surface for extended periods.
Correct maintenance remains essential.
13. Does OptiVAN protect against bug splatter?
Yes. OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is designed to help protect suitable treated surfaces from bug splatter and insect residue.
The coating can help make bug residue easier to remove, but insects should still be cleaned off promptly, especially after long-distance driving or warm-weather touring.
For high-impact front-facing areas, OptiVAN PPF may also be recommended because it provides a physical film barrier.
14. Does OptiVAN protect against UV, fading and oxidation?
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is designed to help protect suitable treated surfaces from UV exposure, fading, oxidation and discolouration.
This is especially important for caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes because they are often stored outdoors and exposed to long periods of sunlight.
15. Does OptiVAN protect against salt air and coastal conditions?
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is designed to help protect suitable treated surfaces from coastal air, salt build-up, road grime and environmental contamination.
Caravans stored or used near coastal areas should still be washed regularly to remove salt residue.
16. Does OptiVAN make the caravan easier to clean?
Yes. OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is designed to improve surface slickness and help make suitable treated surfaces easier to clean.
Contaminants such as dirt, road grime, bug splatter and dust may be easier to remove from a treated surface compared with an untreated surface.
Regular washing is still required, and contaminants should not be left on the surface for extended periods.
17. Does OptiVAN mean I do not have to wash my caravan?
No. OptiVAN helps protect suitable treated surfaces and can make cleaning easier, but it does not eliminate the need for washing and maintenance.
Caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes should still be washed regularly, especially after exposure to red dust, coastal air, bird or bat droppings, bugs, road grime, tree sap, salt build-up or muddy conditions.
Correct care is important for maintaining performance and warranty validity.
18. Is OptiVAN’s Graphene Ceramic scratch-proof?
No. OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is not scratch-proof.
It can help improve surface protection and maintainability, but deep scratches, abrasive washing, branches, stone impact, tools, accidents and neglect can still damage treated surfaces.
For areas exposed to physical impact such as scratches and stone chips, OptiVAN’s Paint Protection Film may be recommended.
19. Does ceramic coating stop stone chips?
No. Ceramic coating is designed for surface protection and environmental contamination resistance. It is not a physical impact film.
For stone chips, road debris, gravel impact and high-impact towing areas, OptiVAN Paint Protection Film is the more suitable option.
A simple way to explain it is: Graphene Ceramic helps protect the surface from the environment, while PPF helps protect against impact and scratches.
20. What is OptiVAN Paint Protection Film?
OptiVAN Paint Protection Film, also known as PPF, is a professionally fitted clear TPU-based protective film applied to vulnerable exterior areas of a caravan, camper, RV or motorhome.
An easy way to understand it is to think of clear contact film on a school book. The book still looks the same underneath, but the clear layer takes the scratches, scuffs and everyday wear first. PPF works in a similar way for your caravan.
It acts as a clear protective skin over selected surfaces, helping protect the caravan’s paint, gelcoat or finished surface from stone chips, road debris, gravel, bug splatter, light scratches, scuffs, branch marks, cleaning marks and wear in high-contact areas.
PPF is especially useful on front-facing panels, lower panels, corners, leading edges, hatches, storage areas, entry doors, step areas and suitable windows.
PPF does not make the caravan damage-proof, but it gives the most vulnerable areas a much stronger first line of defence while maintaining the original look and finish underneath.
21. How does OptiVAN PPF work?
OptiVAN PPF works by placing a durable protective film layer over selected exterior surfaces of the caravan, camper, RV or motorhome.
When stones, grit, insects, road debris, branches or general travel wear come into contact with a protected area, the film helps absorb and resist the impact before it reaches the surface underneath.
In simple terms, PPF acts like a sacrificial protective skin. The film takes the wear first, helping reduce the chance of chips, marks, scuffs and surface damage to the caravan’s paint, gelcoat or finished surface.
OptiVAN PPF is professionally fitted to selected high-risk areas, such as front-facing panels, lower sections, corners, leading edges, hatches, doors, entry points, storage areas and suitable windows.
PPF is not indestructible, and heavy impacts or deep scrapes can still cause damage. However, it provides a strong physical barrier in the areas most exposed to towing, touring, campsite use and everyday contact.
22. What does OptiVAN PPF protect against?
OptiVAN PPF is designed to help protect selected areas from stone chips, road debris, loose gravel, bug splatter, insect residue, road grime, scratches, scuffs, branch marks, hatch wear, entry-area wear and general surface wear from regular travel and cleaning.
It is especially useful on front-facing and lower exterior sections where road debris from towing impact is most common.
23. Where can OptiVAN PPF be fitted?
OptiVAN PPF can be fitted to selected suitable areas of caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes.
Common areas include front panels, rear panels, side panels, lower sections, corners, access hatches, service areas, doors, entry points and suitable window surfaces.
Coverage can be tailored depending on the vehicle design, surface type, travel conditions and the level of protection required.
24. What is Gloss PPF?
Gloss PPF is a high-gloss, ultra-clear protective film designed to protect while maintaining or enhancing the shine and depth of the original exterior finish.
It is best suited to gloss painted or finished caravan, camper, RV and motorhome surfaces.
Gloss PPF is ideal for owners who want added impact protection while enhancing the look of the vehicle.
25. What is Matte / Satin PPF?
Matte / Satin PPF is a protective film designed for matte and satin surfaces.
It helps preserve the low-sheen appearance of matte or satin caravan finishes while protecting the surface from stone chips, scuffs, scratches, bug splatter, road grime and environmental contaminants.
It may also be used on selected gloss surfaces where a matte or satin appearance is desired.
26. What is Clear Defence PPF?
Clear Defence PPF is OptiVAN’s thicker, more durable clear film option designed for higher-impact areas and more demanding touring conditions.
It is suitable for owners who want stronger invisible protection while maintaining the original look of the caravan, camper, RV or motorhome.
Clear Defence PPF is commonly suited to front-facing panels, lower panels, stone impact zones, corners and high-use touring vehicles.
27. Is OptiVAN PPF self-healing?
OptiVAN PPF is engineered with advanced self-healing technology designed to help reduce the appearance of light surface marks in the film when exposed to warmth, such as sunlight or hot water.
Self-healing technology does not make the film indestructible.
It helps the film maintain a cleaner, smoother appearance over time while continuing to protect the surface underneath.
28. Does PPF change the appearance of the caravan?
PPF is designed to maintain or complement the appearance of the surface underneath.
Gloss PPF helps maintain a high-gloss finish. Matte / Satin PPF helps preserve a low-sheen matte or satin look. Clear Defence PPF provides stronger clear protection for high-impact areas. Window PPF is designed for suitable transparent surfaces.
The final appearance depends on the film selected and the surface being protected.
29. What is the difference between Graphene Ceramic and PPF?
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is a liquid-applied protective treatment for suitable exterior and interior surfaces.
OptiVAN PPF is a physical TPU-based protective film applied to selected high-impact areas.
Graphene Ceramic helps protect against environmental exposure, contamination, UV, staining, oxidation and general surface wear. PPF helps protect against physical impact, stone chips, road debris, scuffs, scratches and branch marks.
30. Can I combine Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection and PPF?
Yes. OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection and OptiVAN PPF can be used together.
They are complementary protection solutions, not competing products.
Graphene Ceramic helps protect broad suitable surfaces from environmental exposure and contamination. PPF adds a physical barrier to selected high-impact areas. For many owners, the most complete exterior protection package combines both.
31. Should I choose Graphene Ceramic or PPF?
It depends on what you want to protect against.
Choose Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection for broader surface protection, gloss enhancement, easier cleaning and environmental contamination resistance.
Choose PPF for high-impact areas exposed to stone chips, road debris, branch marks, scuffs and physical wear.
Choose both if you want a more complete exterior protection package.
32. What is OptiVAN Window PPF?
OptiVAN Window PPF is a protective film designed for suitable caravan, camper, RV and motorhome window surfaces.
It can be applied to suitable glass, perspex or see-through rigid plastic windows to help protect exposed transparent surfaces from light scratches, scuffs, road debris, branches, dust, cleaning marks and general wear.
Window PPF is different from window tint. Window PPF is primarily about physical surface protection.
33. What is the difference between Window PPF and Window Tint?
Window PPF is designed to help protect suitable window surfaces from physical wear, light scratches, scuffs, dust, road debris, branches and cleaning marks.
Window tint is designed to manage light, glare, heat, privacy and UV exposure depending on the selected film specification.
In simple terms, Window PPF is for surface protection. Window tint is for comfort, privacy, appearance and solar performance.
34. Can OptiVAN Window PPF be applied to caravan windows?
Yes, OptiVAN Window PPF may be applied to suitable caravan, camper, RV and motorhome window surfaces, including suitable glass, perspex or see-through rigid plastic windows.
Suitability depends on the window type, surface condition, shape, exposure, material and installer assessment.
Not every window surface will be suitable, so professional inspection is recommended before application.
35. Does Window PPF affect visibility?
OptiVAN Window PPF is designed to help protect suitable transparent surfaces while maintaining a clean and functional appearance.
Visibility can depend on the type of film used and the window material.
36. Does Window PPF stop windows from cracking or breaking?
No. Window PPF can help protect suitable window surfaces from light scratches, scuffs, road debris, dust and general surface wear, but it does not make windows unbreakable.
37. What are the main benefits of window tint?
Window tint can help improve comfort by reducing glare and heat, improve privacy, enhance the appearance of suitable windows and help reduce UV exposure depending on the selected film specification.
The final result depends on the film type, glass type, and vehicle design.
38. Is darker window tint better?
Not always. Darkness is only one part of window tint performance.
A quality window film can provide strong heat, glare and UV performance without necessarily being the darkest option available.
The best tint choice should consider legal compliance, visible light transmission, heat rejection, UV protection, glare reduction, privacy, appearance and the type of window being treated.
39. What is OptiVAN Interior Surface Protection?
OptiVAN Interior Surface Protection is designed to help protect suitable internal surfaces of caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes from everyday spills, stains, dirt, grime, food and drink marks, sunscreen, body oils, pet mess, campsite dust and general wear.
The interior protection range can include treatments for soft surfaces such as fabrics, carpets, cushions, lounges, dinette materials and headboard coverings, as well as suitable leather, plastic and vinyl surfaces.
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection may also be applied to selected hard interior surfaces, including shower screen doors, shower walls and wall tiles, mirrors, benchtops, tabletops, splashbacks and cupboard surfaces.
This helps provide a more complete interior protection system, making suitable treated surfaces easier to clean, easier to maintain and better protected from everyday use.
40. Does Interior Surface Protection make fabrics waterproof?
No. OptiVAN Interior Surface Protection helps improve resistance to spills and staining on suitable treated fabrics and soft surfaces, but it does not make them completely waterproof or impossible to stain.
Spills should still be cleaned quickly and correctly.
The protection is designed to make everyday accidents easier to manage by helping reduce absorption and staining. It does not replace regular cleaning, correct care or prompt spill removal.
For hard interior surfaces such as shower screens, benchtops, splashbacks, mirrors, cupboard surfaces and wall tiles, OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is designed to help create a slicker, easier-to-clean surface that assists with ongoing maintenance.
41. Can OptiVAN protect leather, vinyl, plastic and hard interior surfaces?
Yes. OptiVAN Interior Surface Protection may be applied to suitable leather, vinyl, plastic, fabric and carpeted surfaces, depending on the selected package and surface suitability.
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection may also be applied to selected hard interior surfaces, including shower screen doors, shower walls and wall tiles, mirrors, benchtops, tabletops, splashbacks and cupboard surfaces.
Together, these treatments help protect the inside of the caravan, camper, RV or motorhome from spills, stains, grime, body oils, sunscreen residue, food and drink marks, campsite dust, water marks, soap residue and everyday wear.
42. What are OptiVAN Antimicrobial Treatments?
OptiVAN Antimicrobial Treatments are designed to help protect suitable treated interior surfaces against the growth of bacteria and microbes that can contribute to odours and hygiene concerns.
They are especially relevant for caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes because these vehicles are used as compact living spaces where people sleep, cook, eat, travel and store personal items. They can also sit closed up for extended periods between trips, which may contribute to stale odours, trapped moisture, poor airflow and hygiene concerns inside the cabin.
OptiVAN Antimicrobial Treatments help support a cleaner, fresher and more hygienic interior environment on suitable treated surfaces, whether the vehicle is being used regularly, stored between holidays or prepared for longer touring.
43. What do OptiVAN Antimicrobial Treatments help protect against?
OptiVAN Antimicrobial Treatments are designed to help sanitise, shield and protect suitable treated interior surfaces against germs, bacteria, microbes, mould and mildew spores that can contribute to odours, poor air quality and hygiene concerns.
The treatment is designed to work across suitable interior surfaces and the air-conditioning system, helping reduce harmful microorganisms at their source. Once applied, it creates an invisible, colourless and odourless antimicrobial barrier that continues to support a cleaner and fresher interior environment between regular cleaning intervals.
OptiVAN Antimicrobial Treatments are especially valuable in caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes because these vehicles are compact living spaces where people sleep, cook, eat, relax, travel and store personal belongings. They may also sit closed up for extended periods between trips, which can contribute to stale odours, trapped moisture, poor airflow, mould, mildew and bacteria growth.
The treatment does not replace regular cleaning, hygiene practices or routine maintenance, but it adds an important layer of interior protection for your home on wheels.
44. My caravan is new. Why do I need an Antimicrobial Treatment?
Even though your caravan, camper, RV or motorhome may be brand new, it has still passed through many hands before you take delivery.
During manufacturing, fit-out, transport, pre-delivery, detailing, handover and dealership inspections, multiple people may have been inside and around the vehicle. People naturally carry and spread germs and bacteria, which means microbes may already be present on interior surfaces before you have even used the caravan for the first time.
OptiVAN Antimicrobial Treatment helps sanitise suitable interior surfaces and the air-conditioning system by targeting germs and bacteria at their source. It is designed to safely eliminate 99.99% of germs and bacteria, helping ensure your new leisure vehicle or home on wheels feels cleaner, fresher and more hygienic from the day you drive it out of the dealership.
It is a smart first step for new caravans because it helps reset the interior before your family, pets, luggage, food, bedding and personal items move in.
45. Do Antimicrobial Treatments remove the need to clean the caravan interior?
No. OptiVAN Antimicrobial Treatments do not remove the need for regular cleaning.
The treatment helps support a cleaner, fresher and more hygienic interior environment on suitable treated surfaces, but everyday mess still needs to be cleaned properly. Food spills, drink spills, dirt, dust, body oils, pet mess, sunscreen, grime and general campsite contamination should still be removed quickly and correctly.
Think of the treatment as an added layer of hygiene protection, not a replacement for cleaning. Regular cleaning keeps the interior looking and feeling fresh, while the antimicrobial treatment helps reduce germs, bacteria, microbes and odour-causing organisms on suitable treated surfaces between cleaning intervals.
46. What does “Lifetime” warranty mean?
When we say “lifetime,” we mean the operational lifetime of the vehicle.
In other words, the OptiVAN warranty for the applicable Graphene Ceramic treatment and or the OptiVAN interior treatment remains in place for as long as the vehicle is still in use, provided it hasn’t been written off or permanently removed from service, and the warranty conditions are met.
This means the warranty is linked to the vehicle’s usable life, not a fixed number of years. Customers should still follow the relevant OptiVAN maintenance instructions, care requirements and warranty terms and conditions to keep the warranty valid.
The warranty does not mean the product makes the vehicle immune to damage, wear, neglect, accident damage or improper maintenance. It means the eligible protection product is supported for the operational lifetime of the vehicle, subject to the warranty coverage, exclusions and claim requirements.
47. Is the OptiVAN warranty transferable?
Yes. OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection and the OptiVAN interior Protection is backed by a National Lifetime Transferrable Warranty.
Additionally, the OptiVAN PPF is also backed by a National 10-12 Year Transferrable Warranty. (10 year warranty is applicable to the Gloss and Matte/Satin PPF products while the 12 year warranty is applicable to the Clear Defence PPF product).
Customers should always refer to the official warranty documents for transfer requirements, exclusions, maintenance obligations and claim procedures.
48. How do I maintain OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection?
Wash the caravan, camper, RV or motorhome regularly using normal simple cleaning methods and products. You can use our own cleaning products or head into your local store and buy any pH neutral vehicle wash.
Just make sure there is no wax within the vehicle wash and that it is pH neutral.
Remove bird droppings, bat droppings, bug splatter, tree sap, red dust, salt build-up and road grime as soon as practical.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, aggressive scrubbing and poor washing techniques.
Follow the official OptiVAN care instructions to help maintain performance and warranty validity.
49. Why do I need to use a pH-neutral vehicle wash, and why can’t I use wax?
A pH-neutral vehicle wash is recommended because it cleans the surface without using harsh chemicals that may reduce the performance, appearance or longevity of the OptiVAN protective treatment.
OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is designed to create a slick, protective surface that helps make cleaning easier. Using the wrong wash products, such as harsh detergents, abrasive cleaners, strong degreasers or high-alkaline products, may affect the treated surface and reduce the benefits of the coating over time.
Wax should not be used because it can sit over the top of the OptiVAN treatment and interfere with the coating’s intended surface behaviour. Instead of allowing the Graphene Ceramic protection to perform as designed, wax can mask the slickness, gloss, water behaviour and easy-clean properties of the treated surface.
For best results, wash your caravan, camper, RV or motorhome regularly using a quality pH-neutral vehicle wash, clean wash equipment and proper drying methods. Remove bird droppings, bat droppings, bug splatter, red dust, salt build-up, tree sap and road grime as soon as practical.
Following the correct care instructions helps maintain the appearance, performance and warranty support of your OptiVAN protection.
50. I like polishing my vehicles. What polish should I use on my OptiVAN-treated vehicle?
None. Do not polish an OptiVAN-treated caravan, camper, RV or motorhome.
Polishes are designed to cut, abrade, refine or alter the surface. That is the opposite of what you want on an OptiVAN-treated surface. OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is a professionally applied protective treatment designed to sit on and protect the surface. Using polish will reduce, damage or remove the protective treatment and can affect its gloss, slickness, water behaviour, easy-clean performance and warranty support.
If the surface looks dull, marked, contaminated or difficult to clean, do not polish it yourself. Wash it correctly using a pH-neutral vehicle wash and contact OptiVAN or an authorised OptiVAN applicator for advice.
For best results, maintain the treated surface with the approved care process only. Never use polish, cutting compounds, abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals or machine polishing on OptiVAN-treated surfaces unless specifically advised by an authorised OptiVAN professional.
