Two-stage 9H+ Graphene Ceramic system

OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is a two-stage professional 9H+ graphene ceramic system for caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes. Stage one applies the graphene ceramic protective treatment to suitable exterior and interior surfaces. Stage two uses a professional surface finisher designed to assist curing, enhance delivery presentation, improve final gloss and support the finished feel of the treated surface.

The system is professionally applied to create an additional protective barrier over suitable painted, finished and interior surfaces. It helps enhance gloss and shine while supporting durable surface protection against harsh environmental contaminants and everyday touring exposure.

How it works

Professional preparation: Suitable surfaces are inspected, cleaned and prepared to support correct application.
Stage one application: The Graphene Ceramic protective treatment is applied to suitable exterior and/or interior surfaces selected in the package.
Stage two finishing: A professional surface finisher is used to assist curing, enhance delivery presentation, improve final gloss and support the finished feel of the treated surface.
Curing and final inspection: Treated surfaces are checked before delivery to support a premium presentation and warranty-backed application.

OptiVAN Graphene Ceramic Surface Protection is supported by independent laboratory testing designed to assess key areas of coating performance, including adhesion, thickness, surface hardness, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, corrosion resistance and weathering durability.

These tests help demonstrate how the coating performs under controlled laboratory conditions and provide important technical support for the OptiVAN protection system.

These tests help demonstrate how the coating performs under controlled laboratory conditions and provide important technical support for the OptiVAN protection system.

Cross-cut adhesion test

The Cross-Cut Adhesion Test measures how strongly the coating bonds to the surface underneath.

A grid pattern of intersecting cuts is made through the coating down to the substrate. Adhesive tape is then applied over the cut area and removed. The test area is inspected to see whether any coating has lifted or detached from the surface.

A strong result shows that the coating has maintained good adhesion to the surface after the cutting and tape-removal process.

In the independent test report, the ceramic coating achieved a Cross-Cut result of 0, indicating strong coating adhesion under the test conditions.

Film thickness

The Film Thickness Test measures the thickness of the applied coating layer.

This helps confirm that the coating has formed a measurable protective film over the tested surface. Film thickness is important because it helps show that the coating is not simply sitting invisibly on the surface, but has created a defined protective layer.

In the independent test report, the ceramic coating recorded a measured film thickness of 9 microns under the test conditions.

Abrasion resistance test

The Abrasion Resistance Test measures how well the coating resists mechanical wear.

In this test, a coated sample is exposed to rotating abrasive wheels under a specified load for a set number of cycles. The surface is then assessed for material loss or visible wear.

This test helps show how the coating performs when exposed to repeated friction, rubbing or mechanical abrasion.

In the independent test report, the coating was tested for abrasion resistance using a Taber-style abrasion method and recorded a low measured mass loss under the test conditions.

Resistance to liquids test

The Resistance to Liquids Test measures how the coating reacts when exposed to selected liquid solutions.

Test panels are immersed in specified liquids for a defined period and then inspected for physical or visual changes such as cracking, blistering, peeling, softening, swelling, discolouration or degradation.

This is important because caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes are regularly exposed to water, cleaning products, road contaminants, environmental fallout and other liquid-based substances.

In the independent test report, the ceramic coating showed no cracking, no blistering and no peeling after exposure to the tested liquid solutions.

Salt spray corrosion resistance test

The Salt Spray Test measures how well a coating helps protect against corrosion-related exposure.

In this test, coated panels are placed in a controlled chamber and exposed to a continuous saline mist for a set period. The panels are then inspected for signs of corrosion, coating failure or surface degradation.

This is especially relevant for caravans, campers, RVs and motorhomes used near coastal areas or exposed to salt air, road spray, rain, moisture and environmental contamination.

In the independent test report, the coating passed the neutral salt water spray test under the stated test conditions.

Accelerated weathering test

The Accelerated Weathering Test simulates long-term environmental exposure in a controlled laboratory environment.

The coated panels are exposed to cycles of UV light, heat and moisture to assess how the surface performs when subjected to conditions that represent sun exposure, temperature changes, moisture and weathering stress.

After testing, the surface is assessed for changes such as cracking, blistering, appearance change, colour change, gloss loss or surface degradation.

In the independent test report, the coating showed no cracking and no blistering after accelerated weathering exposure under the stated test conditions.
